If you read other parts of my web site, you will see that I unfortunetly have only use of my rigt hand/arm. For many years, I have played trumpet. Always a really good player, the challenge came in 2004. I still wanted to play trumpet, but faced several challenges. I have good use of my right arm, but it is very hard to hold a regular trumpet. So what I found and use to play with is called a "pocket trumpet". Its not a cornet, but an even tighter wound horn. Though always taught to not use 'the pinkie ring', thats how I hold the horn. It has a less bright sound than a reg trumpet, but brighter than a cornet.

The hardest part playing with one hand is of coarse tuning. I don;t have the luxury of 1st and 3rd valve tuning slides. So it's lip city. I use a lot of alternate fingerings, that seems to help a whole lot.
