The Morning Coffee Mix is the creation of James Larken Smith. You can listen on the web at
The Morning Coffee Mix web site. But the best way to experience the show is by visiting us in
the virtual world called "Second Life". It;s a show that aims to brighten your day. You will hear
some jazz, some pop, some classic music from the 40's through today. It's full of sillyness
too. Like "brb-phone", a phrase you often see someone type out, brings the sounds of Rafii &
"The Banana Phone Song". We dance to the music thanks to our wonderful friend and avid
golfer Ms Oliviah. Other wonderful folks you might see are Mia , Woody, Cre8, Cin, Math, Jojo,
Sasy, Jdog.

Often current events are brought into the music and talk, But what hopefully you will find is a
group of people that will make you feel good, and happy. We love the occasional banjo tune,
and a great sing-a-long song. And occasionally James even plays a song on the trumpet.

How it Started - Every morning I used to go into the virtual world of Second Life. I would go to
my favorite hangout, The Blue Fusion, and sit with a few friends at a virtual table. We would
talk about lots of things, while we drank coffee at the same time in our real lives.

At the same time I had started doing some DJ'ing in Second Life also. I had always wanted to
DJ most of my life. My mom tells stories of me sitting for hours with my tape recorder making
shows with my brother. So I DJ'd quite a bit, and found I was getting a really good response.
But I kept running into problems. My kids were in high school, and I was mainly dj'ing in the
afternoons. So I kept running into conflicts with various things going on with them. Then one
day, it suddenly came to me, why not try a morning slot. So I decided on the hours of 10-8am
Pacific time(thats 10am-12Noon my time). I was so surprised how well it went. It has grown
to an average morning listener-ship of about 40-50 people. Not much by terrestrial radio
standards of coarse, but a real steady manageable amount.  We continue to grow....
